As Mien are being dispersed all over the face of the globe, there have been several studies and reports on the approximation of Mien population.  According to some of the published documentations and those that are reported in the world wide websites, the Mien population in the United States is ranging from 18,000 to 50,000.  The exact Mien population in the United States and around the world is unknown; however, Table 2 below offers a quick glance into where Mien people reside throughout the U.S., divided by Mien Christians and non-Christians.

Of those who reside in the United States can be located in three major states, Washington, Oregon, and California.  In Washington State, the majority of Mien people reside in Seattle, Renton, and Kent. In California, Mien people reside largely in Sacramento, Oakland, Richmond, San Jose, Merced, Visalia, Stockton, Fresno, Yuba City, Oroville, Gridley, and Redding. Sacramento California holds the largest Mien population in the United States. In Oregon, the Mien people can be found in Portland, Beaverton, Salem, and Troutdale.
